Tamron has produced a wide range of Adaptall and Adaptall 2 lenses over many years, including not only the common wide angles, telephotos and zooms, but also some outstanding SP (Super Performance) types such as the 17mm f/3.5, 24-48mm f/3.5, 35-105mm f/2.8, 400mm f/4, 500mm f/8 mirror and many others. Using interchangeable mounts, these lenses can be fitted to most SLR cameras, classic and modern, and even many AF and digital models.
This mount fits Tamron lenses to Pentax K and PK SLR cameras (see below), plus many KA, AF and digital models with restrictions. It allows full aperture metering with auto diaphragm, compatible with manual and aperture priority auto exposure modes on Pentax K and many KA and AF cameras, plus digital models with stopped down metering in Hyper Manual mode (more details below). A secondary aperture scale is provided for cameras that display this in the viewfinder optically. he KA mount is preferred for AF and digital cameras, but is now collectable and often commands premium prices of £70 or more.
Please note that this is the mount ONLY, and no camera or lens is included. Not compatible with the older Tamron Adapt-a-Matic or T-mount lenses.
Canon has been spinning the myth about the superiority of in lens I S. Well if Tamron does make one for Pentax or Sony, that will be very very interesting as direct comparison can be made. And since Canon/Nikon will not allow it, that is the end of the Tamon SR lens in Pentax or Sony mount
